Cascading Parameters

I have a report that is based on 2 listboxes, the second one's values dependent on the value selected in the first box. How would I display all values in both list boxes on the report if I so decided?

Thanks,

The Rook

I'd be very interested to see how you got one parameter's available values to be dependant on another's. Every way I've tried, I've had a forward dependency error.

Do you mean all available values, or the selected values?

|||I meant the "selected values." MSDN has a walkthrough that's very helpful and it's URL is: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337426(d=printer).aspx - good luck!|||

Thanks for the link.

As for displaying the selected values on the report, that depends. If you are using just single-valued parameters, you can just drop a textbox for each parameter on the page, and set its value to the parameter. If you have a multi-valued parameter, you can try =Join(Parameters!Foo, ", ") for a comma-separated list of selected values. If you wanted something fancier, the only way I can think of is to use that same join syntax to pass the selected parameters to a query that returns the rowset that can populate, say, a table.

Cascade Delete enumeration?

Hello,
Does anyone know a query I can run that will display all cascade actions (on
delete or otherwise) for all tables/relationships in a given database?
Thanks in advance
-Kerry-Something like:
select object_name(fkeyid) 'References',
object_name(rkeyid) 'Referenced',
case when ObjectProperty(r.constid, 'CnstIsDeleteCascade') = 1 then 'Yes'
else 'No' end 'DeleteCascade',
case when ObjectProperty(r.constid, 'CnstIsUpdateCascade') = 1 then 'Yes'
else 'No' end 'UpdateCascade'
from sysreferences r
where ObjectProperty(r.constid, 'CnstIsDeleteCascade') = 1
or ObjectProperty(r.constid, 'CnstIsUpdateCascade') = 1

Cart data row

I have a SQL table with summary data. I want to display a pie chart for fields in each row and a table that displays values from the corresponding row.

I have a table and pie chart defined. However the pie chart only displays for the first row in the table. The table repeats ok for each row in the table. I have tried placing a rectangle on the report and putting the chart and the table in the rectangle but it still works the same. The table and pie chart use the same dataset.

I have read about nesting data regions but I cannot see how to make a link between the table and pie chart.

You need to add a grouping (on RowNumber() for example) to the chart in order to display each row in the dataset. The difference between chart and table is that table displays details when there's no group expressions, while chart also shows groups and aggregated data.

Carriage Return ,VBCrLf in PDF

Hi,
I have a report render out in PDF. There's a Employee Preference
column which has "<BR>" to display each item on a new line. It works
ok by using Replace "BR" with VbCrLf, but there is a problem when
viewing in PDF.
For example: Red <BR> Blue <BR> Green, should be displayed as:
Red
Blue
Green
but after replace BR with a VbCrLf, the result displayed in multple
lines but there's always a mystery empty character in front of the
second line.
Red
Blue
Green.
ANyone have any ideas?
ThanksMike,
I am not sure if this will solve your problem; but I use
"System.Environment.NewLine" in my report to produce a newline.
So for example:
=Fields!Color.Value & System.Environment.NewLine & Fields!Color.Value ....
See if that works.
